Welcome from the Headteacher

I am delighted to welcome you to Imberhorne School, a community where we empower everyone to strive, support and succeed as conscientious, open-minded, and fulfilled learners. Our culture is guided by our core values of Achievement, Ambition, Community, Resilience, and Respect. As an inclusive school, we hold high expectations for all our students, supporting them through unconditional positive regard. In doing so we maintain high expectations for all to create a calm, focused environment where every individual can thrive. We care deeply about all of our students.

Our curriculum is academically rigorous, complemented by an equal emphasis on the arts, sports, creative, and vocational learning. Taking a 'high challenge, high support' approach, we only accept students’ best and encourage them to think deeply, build resilience, and develop a strong foundation of knowledge. Our staff maintain a 'warm-strict' balance, which combines clear, consistent routines with high conduct standards, alongside strong care, guidance, praise and recognition. This structured relational approach cultivates trust and warmth alongside clear boundaries, and fosters a scholarly atmosphere.

Character development and personal growth sit at the heart of our mission. We offer an exceptional enrichment programme, encouraging students to form deep connections through an outstanding range of extra-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, performing arts, sports, student leadership, and memorable trips. We aim to nurture active, confident young people who are prepared to make a positive contribution to the wider world.

Imberhorne is a special community with exceptional students - I am proud to lead our school.
